Design and Implementation of a Wearable Remote Health Monitoring System
As a technology, telemedicine is defined as the use of advanced communication technologies to give treatment over a physical distance in a clinical setting. As a result, it enables and ensures the supply of tele-healthcare to medical workers and patients alike. This system was designed with a modular approach in mind. The sensing which consists of the DS182B20 sensor for taking the temperature and the MAX30102 sensor was used to measure both Blood oximetry (SpO2) and Pulse/heart rate of the individual, these sensors send the sensed data to the Arduino Nano for processing which acts as the processing unit of the sensing unit. These values are displayed via the OLED module and are seamlessly sent to the cloud unit via a GSM module. The cloud unit consists of ThingSpeak acts as the cloud server, a mobile App for viewing the collected data and Heroku Platform which serves as the mobile database. At the end of this work, both the sensing unit and the cloud unit were developed, constructed, and tested and the whole system was integrated. From the results obtained, it was seen that the system was working perfectly and all aims and objectives were met.
