Efficient speed control and comparison of voltage gain and efficiency of Separately excited DC motor with CUK converter and ZETA converter

With an emphasis on important parameters like voltage gain and efficiency, this study investigates how well the CUK and Zeta DC-DC converters perform in regulating the speed of an independently excited DC motor. The efficiency of both converters in controlling motor speed was thoroughly compared by simulating them under various duty cycles using MATLAB. According to experimental results, the Zeta converter outperformed the CUK converter, which had an efficiency of 94.33% at the same duty cycle, with a greater efficiency of 96% at a 60% duty cycle. Furthermore, at 80% duty cycle, the Zeta converter achieved a maximum voltage gain of 4.84 as opposed to 3.37 for the Cuk converter, indicating a more stable and with less ripple voltage output. Because of its exceptional efficiency and voltage gain, the Zeta converter is especially well-suited for applications that demand a high degree of precision and stability, such renewable energy systems and electric vehicles. These results contribute to the development of more dependable and efficient electric propulsion technologies by providing insightful information for motor drive system converter selection  optimization.ˆ
