Exploring TikTok Content in Indonesia: Education, News, and Personal Experience in the Crypto Niche

TikTok has emerged as a dominant platform for sharing information and education, especially in Indonesia’s rapidly growing crypto sector. This study investigates how TikTok shapes understanding of cryptocurrency in Indonesia, with a focus on the unique role of TikTok influencers in spreading knowledge about digital financial revolution. By analyzing the type of content being shared and its impact on public knowledge, This research aims to uncover trends in using TikTok as a crypto education and awareness tool in Indonesia. This research uses a cross-sectional study by analyzing popular hashtags related to cryptocurrency content since 2024. A deductive qualitative analysis was used to identify relevant accounts and content. As the result, crypto content on TikTok is dominated by crypto trend topics, with educational formats being the most dominant, with the majority of creators identifying themselves as traders and consistently showing their faces in videos. The research is limited by its focus on TikTok and sample size and focus on one social media platform.
