Dynamics of Energy Cost of Performance during Sprint and Long-Distance Running
This manuscript explores the intricate dynamics of energy expenditure in track running events, ranging from sprints to long-distance races, by examining both physiological and biomechanical factors. The study delves into the varying contributions of anaerobic and aerobic energy systems across different distances, challenging traditional views that primarily associate anaerobic metabolism with short-distance events. The study further examines the impact of various factors—physiological, biomechanical, environmental, and psychological—on running economy and performance. This comprehensive analysis underscores the complex interplay between anaerobic and aerobic systems in running performance, providing valuable insights for optimizing training strategies across different distances. By integrating physiological, biomechanical, and technological perspectives, this study contributes to a deeper understanding of the energy dynamics that underpin elite athletic performance.
