Development of a Low Cost IoT Integrated System in Precision Smart Garden

This study highlights the development of an embedded device based on Internet of Things intended for precision smart gardens, providing comprehensive method to monitor environmental parameters, as well as soil pH, nutrients, and lethal gas detection. The device includes a well-designed front-end section by NodeMCU microcontrollers. It has several high-precision sensors for checking temperature and humidity, detecting hazardous emissions of harmful gases, and monitoring of water level while raining. Additionally, NPK sensor and pH sensor have been integrated for monitoring soil nutrition and pH levels. The back end is fully connected with the Adafruit program, providing real-time view of sensor parameters via mobile and laptop, assisting in data visualization, and data analysis. Google spreadsheet serves as a dependable database support. Validity of sensor process has been carried out, describing that these measurements of our device are statistically consistent with those of commercially devices available in market. SPSS software is used to perform for getting paired sample t-test value more than 0.05 and correlation greater than 0.08 value to validate our sensors parameter with commercial devices. This research supports our device's usefulness and serves as a template for researchers in future to use theiradata correctly. Furthermore, complete data analysis via graphical representation of all parameters, serves thorough understanding of environmental traits and soil conditions.
