A Concise Assessment of Aluminum and Its Interfacial Responses: Properties and Processing for Multifaceted Application
This research arose from a critical desire to address and review production/materials issues encountered in the packaging industry. The assessment takes a direction from mechanical capabilities, thermal instability, and unequal microstructure of commonly used aluminium alloys. Several performance and improvement recorded from adding appropriate alloying components, organic or inorganic composite using the stir casting method were discussed. The future of mass production of metal matrix composites (MMC) and the economic advantages were ascertained. Interestingly, physical parameters such as thermal expansion, thermal diffusivity, density, and mechanical properties such as tensile and compressive strength, tribological behavior, and creep as it relate to responses were provided. This study therefore provides a concrete new engineering material with remarkable mechanical and physical qualities.
