An Overview On Super-Hydrophobic Surfactant Coating on Mild Steel
Superhydrophobic surfaces present fascinating surface qualities for a variation of uses, as well as anti-corrosion self-cleaning, anti-icing, and more. Superhydrophobic surfaces can be effectively produced using surfactant coatings. The following report checks for the capability of steel surfaces as the substrate for producing superhydrophobic surfaces using surfactant coatings. The report addresses the formulation of the coatings, the methods used for testing, and the results obtained. Then, the paper also relates the results that have been found to other previous studies in this area. In these findings it is revealed a way into possibility of inducing superhydrophobic surfaces onto mild steel through surfactant coatings. Fundamentally, two main approaches are employed in inducing super-hydrophobicity onto any given surface: Utilization of a coating with little surface energy and the surface development of a binary micro/nano-rough structure.
