Design of an Efficient System for Infrared Energy Harvesting

The paper presents a system for infrared energy harvesting. The system consists of two antennas. One antenna works at the near-infrared (1um wavelength) and accepts power from solar radiation. The estimated accepted power is higher than that can be received by conventional solar cells. The other antenna accepts power radiated from the earth's surface at a wavelength of 10 um. The estimated received power reaches 250 watts per square meter when the antenna gains 3 dB.

The estimated accepted power is higher than that can be received by conventional solar cells. The other antenna accepts power radiated from the earth's surface at a wavelength of 10 um.
