MIMOS Independent Verification &Validation (IV&V) as an Enabler for Information Technologies Companies to Improve ESG Ratings and Market Value
Despite the high growth by the Bursa Malaysia Technology sector, the level of sustainability for continuous growth is at risk of being excluded from supplying their services to Multinational Companies. The Carbon Transition is crucial as per the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, climate change is reaching urgency level whereby globally we are not on track to prevent the temperature increase by $1.5^{\circ} \mathrm{C}$ that will impact nature and the human system. To address these problems and to support these efforts, the first objective of this paper is to identify requirements for the environment, social and governance (ESG) for companies in Malaysia. The second objective of this paper is to compare related research, development and services (case studies) by the MIMOS IV&V against the ESG requirement (objective 1).The mixed research methodology employed in this paper includes secondary data analysis such as a poll and expert interviews. Subject matter experts from MIMOS IV&V were interviewed to identify case studies (if any) to gauge the readiness to serve and fulfill the ESG requirements. Based on these, 12 selected IV&V case studies were identified and comparison of these case studies against the ESG requirements were carried out. Finally, recommendation are put forward together with the proposed MIMOS IV&V Framework to help improve the ESG ratings and thus the market value of the companies in Malaysia towards attaining sustainable growth.
