ROBOT-ASSISTED PROSTATECTOMY USING THE DA VINCI SP SURGICAL SYSTEM: THE TRANSITION FROM A MULTI-PORT TO A SINGLE-PORT SYSTEM

Background. Prostate cancer (PCa) is a malignant tumour that forms from the glandular epithelium of the prostate gland. Today, prostate cancer is one of the most frequently diagnosed cancers in the male population. The method of choice for radical treatment of localised prostate cancer is robot-assisted prostatectomy (RAPP). Purpose. To evaluate the modern possibilities of robotic surgery and to determine the relevance of transition from multiport to single-port system. Conclusion. Elevated BMI is a predisposing factor for urinary incontinence and erectile dysfunction (ED) in the postoperative post-RARP period.
