Comparative Analysis of Torque Ripple in IPMSM Topologies Using the Frozen Permeability Method
This research analyzes torque ripple characteristics based on the rotor shape of interior permanent magnet synchronous motors (IPMSMs) to identify a more suitable topology for the required specifications. Using the frozen permeability method, torque waveforms for each magnetic field source were separated and compared with finite element analysis results to verify torque component separation. The torque ripple characteristics of IPMSMs' rotor topologies at the design operating points were then examined and compared. Ultimately, a detailed analysis was conducted through improved design, leading to the proposal of a suitable topology for the required specifications.
