Variable Gain Control of Nonlinear Suspension Force for Bearingless Doubly Salient Electromagnetic Motor Under Magnetic Saturation

The nonlinear relationship between the suspension force and the field current affects the suspension performance of the bearingless doubly salient electromagnetic (BDSEM) motor under magnetic saturation. First, the suspension principle and the characteristics of the nonlinear suspension force of the BDSEM motor are analyzed. Second, the influence of magnetic saturation on the suspension performance of the motor is revealed. Third, a variable gain suspension control method is proposed to achieve the stable suspension of the motor under magnetic saturation. Finally, the simulation model of the BDSEM motor is established, and the results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
