The Loss-Minimizing Control Strategy for DSEM Driving System With Current Source Converter
A loss-minimizing control strategy is proposed to achieve high-efficiency characteristics for the doubly salient electromagnetic machine (DSEM) driving system with the current source converter (CSC) in the wide speed range. In order to reduce copper loss and iron loss of DSEM, the mathematical derivation is given to calculate the loss-minimizing operation point according to the speed, then, the optimized reference q-axis current and field current could be obtained for the proposed control strategy. Finally, the effectiveness and feasibility of the system are verified by the simulation and experiment results.
