IPF Improvement of DPWM-Controlled for DMC with a Double PI Controller
This paper presents a proportional-integral (PI) control method for improving the input power factor (IPF) in a direct matrix converter (DMC). The proposed method utilizes the discontinuous pulse width modulation (DPWM) technique to enhance efficiency and reliability. The proposed method regulates the IPF to unity by reducing the steady-state error between actual and desired values. It is worth noting that the proposed method can also control input voltage and current by adjusting the system response. It can achieve the desired voltage and current levels, improving system performance and stability. The proposed method improves IPF and reduces total harmonic distortion (THD). The effectiveness and robustness of the proposed method are demonstrated through comprehensive analysis and simulation results.
