Improved Current Limiting Control for LVRT Strategy of Virtual Synchronous Generator
Large disturbances may lead overcurrent and power angle divergence of grid-forming (GFM) inverters controlled by Virtual Synchronous Generator (VSG). In this paper, from the perspective of short-circuit current limitation and transient power angle stability, a dynamic power adjustment strategy is proposed. Then, a low voltage ride-through strategy (LVRT) based on virtual impedance and current limiter switching is designed. The proposed strategy not only solves the overcurrent problem of GFM inverters, but also enhances the power angle stabilization of the system.
