Study of Pitching Suppression in a Propulsion and Levitation Integrated Conveyance System Using the Linear Stepper Motor

The purpose of this study is to realize a magnetically levitated conveyance system that can perform both levitate and propulsion using the same system. Both attractive and propulsive forces can be obtained with the linear stepper motor used for propulsion. In previous studies, the levitation of the carrier was achieved. In this system, the pattern of the trackside coils opposite the front and rear coils of the carrier is different to enable propulsion. As a result, a difference in attractive force acts on the front and rear of the carrier when it is propelled, and if this difference becomes larger, pitching occurs, preventing the carrier from levitation. Therefore, in this study, the attractive force difference is generated by changing the current values on the trackside, and the attractive force difference that can suppress pitching is investigated by monitoring the levitation state.
