Placement of Electromagnets for Edge-Supported Maglev Systems: Experimental Study on the Relationship Between Steady Current and Vibration Characteristics During Electromagnet Direction Change

In the plating process of flexible steel plates, rollers are mainly used for conveyance. The contact between the rollers and the surface-treated flexible steel plate causes deterioration of the surface quality of the plate. For this reason, a non-contact gripping and conveying system using electromagnets has been proposed. In the previous studies, the case where the thickness direction of the ferrite core of the electromagnet and the thickness direction of the steel plate are arranged in a perpendicular relationship has been mainly examined. In this report, we have investigated the relationship between the steady current and vibration characteristics by experiment, in which the thickness direction of the ferrite core of the electromagnet is arranged in the same direction as the thickness direction of the steel plate in order to increase the magnetic flux passing through the steel plate.
