Design and Optimization of High Torque Permanent Magnet Vernier Machines with Fault Tolerance
Firstly, in order to achieve the goal of improving the torque density and enhancing the fault tolerance of permanent magnet vernier motors (PMVMs), a hybrid stator structure with fault-tolerant teeth is proposed based on the traditional PMVMs. The torque and the Back-EMF of the two motors are compared. The results show that the proposed motor has better electronic performance. Moreover, the effects of main parameters on the torque, torque ripple, and back EMF of the proposed PMVM are studied, and performance optimization designs are carried out on the proposed PMVM. Finally, the impact of different short-circuit turns on PMVM fault tolerance performance is evaluated..
