Influence of Secondary Structure on the Transverse Edge Effect of LP-DSLIM
In order to consider the transverse edge effect on the long primary double sided linear induction motor (LP-DSLIM), the 3-D models of LP-DSLIM are established to simulate the motor with finite elements methods. Due to the space constraints in practical applications, the secondary width of LP-DSLIM is often less than <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$2(a+\tau/\pi)$</tex>, and the second type of transverse edge effect caused by it has a worse impact on LP-DSLIM. In order to weaken the second type of transverse edge effect, a new type of secondary is proposed, which regulates the eddy current path by reducing the end resistance. Aiming to accurately describe the second type of transverse edge effect, this paper proposes a method to integrate the current density within the secondary to measure the transverse edge effect equivalently, and uses this method to compare and analyze various secondary models, which confirms the validity of the method.
