Influence of different potassium chloride dosages on the development of sangra d’água seedlings
The species Croton urucurana Baill is a tree species native to South America, widely used in Degraded Areas Recovery Projects due to being a pioneer and fast-growing species. The aim of the research was to evaluate the effect of different dosages of potassium fertilization (KCL and NPK) on the development of Croton urucurana Baill seedlings. The experiment was conducted in an urban perimeter in the city of Mineiros (Goiás/Brazil), in a suitable place with full sun, with 5 treatments and 10 replications, where KCl doses of 0, 5, 15 and 25 grams per plant were used, the last treatment being with 150 grams of NPK (5-25-15), as traditionally used in plantations of tree species. The effects of different dosages of potassium fertilization on seedlings were evaluated through plant height, stem diameter and number of surviving plants. The level of significance was set at 5%. The results of this study indicate that the dosage of potassium chloride significantly affects the growth and development of Croton urucurana Baill plants. The results allows us to conclude that potassium fertilization greater than 15 grams promote toxicity problems to the species Croton urucurana Baill, causing problems in the development and death of the plants.
