CALCULATION OF A STATICALLY INDETERMINATE MULTI-SUPPORT BEAM UNDER BENDING

This paper presents the strength calculation of a statically indeterminate multi-support I-beam. Using the specified external load and the values of the strength characteristics of the material, diagrams of internal force factors are constructed and the I-beam number is selected. The specified material characteristics are the permissible normal stress. The principle of independence of force action is used to determine the reactions of a statically indeterminate beam: the action of the sum of forces is equal to the sum of their actions. The principle of independence of force action allows finding the desired quantities (stress, displacement, deformation) separately for each load and adding up the results. The method considered in the article has practical significance for small deformations when the assumption of a linear relationship between the desired quantity and the external load is made, which is convenient when solving problems.
