Effectiveness of online tournament “Effective family physical culture”

The article examines the effectiveness of the online tournament «Effective Family Physical Culture» as an innovative approach to involving families in common physical activities in the conditions of distance learning. The role of family physical education and health activities in forming the culture of healthy lifestyle, improving the psycho-emotional state of participants and developing motivation for physical activity have been considered. Based on the analysis of the results of the online survey of tournament participants, the level of satisfaction with its organization, complexity and content of tasks has been determined. It has been found out that the most interesting tasks for the teams were «For Home, for Family» and «Fitness Story», while the most difficult for the participants was «Master Class for Your Family». The participants’ assessments indicate the overall effectiveness of the tournament, however, they made some suggestions to improve the regulations, in particular, clarifying the evaluation criteria, increasing the time given to complete tasks, and refusing online voting. It was concluded that family sports events organized in a remote format contribute to family cohesion, formation of stable motivational attitudes towards physical activity, and might become an effective tool for supporting health of children and adults. Prospects for further research are related to the development of adaptive methods for organization of this type of events in different formats of interaction, taking into account the age and individual characteristics of the participants, as well as finding ways to integrate such initiatives into the physical education system in educational institutions of various types.
