German and Swedish gymnastics systems: influence on physical culture

The article is devoted to the study of the influence of the German and Swedish gymnastic systems on the development of physical culture and modern methods of physical education. These systems played a key role in the formation of educational, military and health programs, laying the foundations of organized physical education. The article examines the basic principles of the German gymnastics system founded by Johann Guts-Muts and Friedrich Ludwig Jahn, which aimed to develop physical strength, endurance, and discipline. It also analyzes the Swedish system of Per Henrik Ling, which emphasized correct posture, symmetry of movements, and accessibility of exercises to the general public. The spread of these systems in Europe and the world, their influence on the creation of national physical education programs, as well as their integration into modern methods of sports training and rehabilitation are studied. Special attention is paid to the use of elements of German and Swedish gymnastics in educational institutions and military training in different countries. In the process of analyzing modern scientific research, key aspects of the heritage of the German and Swedish gymnastic systems have been identified that have remained relevant to this day. It has been found that many of the principles of these methods continue to be applied in modern physical education, sports activities, and health programs. The results obtained allow us to understand more deeply the historical foundations of physical culture, assess the contribution of classical gymnastic systems to the development of modern approaches to physical training, and contribute to the further improvement of physical education methods.
