Study finds depressed people with AUD enjoy drinking

People with severe alcohol use disorder (AUD) tend to get less pleasure from drinking as tolerance builds, needing increasing amounts of alcohol to ward off withdrawal. However, a recent study of people with AUD and depression found that when drinking, the participants experienced the same level of intoxication and pleasure as people who do not have depression and who drink.
