LA MEDIACIÓN (IM)POSIBLE EN LA CONFLICTIVIDAD SOCIOAMBIENTAL. ANÁLISIS DEL CASO MONSANTO EN MALVINAS ARGENTINAS
Is mediation possible in socio-environmental conflict? The question acquires a unique relevance in a region, Latin America, in which in the contemporary period there is a growing multiplication of disputes over the modes of use and appropriation of territories. This article, using the theoretical contributions of political ecology and the sociology of public problems, seeks to systematize, in the first instance, the various dimensions that socio-environmental litigation goes through. From this, we reflect on the complexity of mediation in a space-time marked by: a) logics of accumulation that develop from intensive uses of natural resources and; b) for the formation of an environmental justice movement that puts an antagonistic and incommensurable language of valuing nature before hegemonic discourse. Likewise, recovering an emblematic case of socio-environmental conflict, with its epicenter in the Monsanto facility in the town of Malvinas Argentinas (Córdoba/Argentina), we analyze the intervention of the Human Rights Oversight Commission as a possible mediating action.
