Introduction
podium to deliver lectures on the same or related topics as presented in text form here. The Congress, which will unite scores of scholars from around the world, is organized to foster discussion and debate that is naturally not possible with a printed text, but the two events blend purposefully to honor Charcot and his legacy in complementary formats. The three core missions of this special edition are, first, a celebration of a man and his legacy; second, a dedication to illustrating the range and robustness of current-day scholarship on Charcot; and, third, a purposeful encouragement to foster continued research projecting into a third century of Charcot studies.Proudly, we feel that we have met these goals.
