Validity and reliability of the instrument for measuring risky sexual behaviors in young Peruvians

Risky sexual behaviors are those actions of a sexual nature that generate negative consequences in young people. This paper presents the validity and reliability of an instrument that measures risky sexual behaviors in young people, specifically in Peru. To do this, an instrumental methodology was used, where 1980 young people selected by the snowball method participated. The confirmatory factor analysis of the original model was performed, the adjustment indices proved to be good in the CFI=0.944 and TLI= 0.928, and ideal in the SRMR= 0.0328 and RMSEA= 0.0668, likewise, values of ω= 0.884 were found for the general scale, demonstrating that the instrument has high reliability. The results confirm that the instrument is valid and reliable and that there is also a theoretical and empirical basis for the study context.
