140P Prognostic factors for early recurrence in synovial sarcoma of the extremities
Synovial sarcoma (SS) is a rare subtype of soft tissue sarcoma (STS), representing 5–10% of all STS cases. Typically presents at a younger mean age (39 years) and occurs equally in both sexes. Most cases arise in the extremities. While wide surgical excision remains the mainstay of treatment, the role of chemotherapy is controversial, and radiotherapy is often used for larger, deeper lesions. Factors such as tumor size, grade, and patient age have been associated with worse outcomes, but evidence is limited regarding early recurrence predictors.
