Treatment of hyperuricaemia and gout with probiotics and gut flora
Hyperuricemia is a chronic metabolic disease caused by abnormal purine metabolism, the main sources of which are cellular metabolism in the body and purines in food. The concentration of uric acid in the blood can be elevated when uric acid is produced excessively or excreted inadequately. Hyperuricemia can lead to a number of health problems, including gout and kidney disease. Studies have shown a strong link between hyperuricemia and gut flora. Patients tend to have reduced levels of beneficial gut flora, and the use of probiotics may help to maintain a balanced gut flora that promotes the excretion of purines and uric acid. This article will focus on the potential role of probiotics and intestinal flora in the treatment of hyperuricemia and gout.
