Modern Approaches to The Restoration, Digitization, and Conservation of Central Asian Historical Manuscripts
This study focuses on modern approaches and methods in the restoration, digitization, and conservation of ancient Central Asian manuscripts. It provides a detailed analysis of the historical and cultural significance of ancient written heritage, as well as the challenges of preserving its original content and transmitting it to future generations. The article examines the process of manuscript digitization using optical scanning, artificial intelligence, spectroscopic, and chemical analysis techniques, along with new conservation methods applied in restoration. Researchers highlight how these technologies enable the reconstruction of ancient manuscripts’ writing styles, decorative scripts, and material properties while also developing effective solutions for protecting them from environmental influences. The findings indicate that the creation of digital archives serves not only as a reliable historical resource for scientific research but also as a valuable asset for the general public and young scholars. The study contributes to enhancing global recognition of manuscript heritage at both national and international levels. Based on these insights, the article proposes new methodologies for future digitization and conservation efforts, supports young researchers, and promotes international collaboration in the field.
