18TiP Maintenance cabozantinib in children, adolescents and young adults with unresectable osteosarcoma: The phase II, randomized, open-label CabOSTar trial
Outcomes remain poor for children, adolescents and young adults (AYA) with advanced osteosarcoma. Those with persistent non-progressive disease (PD) after chemotherapy could receive maintenance therapy, aimed at maintaining response, preventing or delaying PD, and improving quality of life (QoL). However, there is currently no consensus on the maintenance therapy for these patients, which represents a high unmet need. Cabozantinib, a multi-tyrosine kinase inhibitor, has shown activity in children and adults with relapsed or refractory osteosarcoma.
