Stem Cells and Neurological Recovery
Abstract The mode and mechanism of brain function are an enigma. Myriad insults can compromise neurological function. Trauma and vascular compromise are common neurological catastrophes. Therapeutic modalities available in today’s armamentarium to manage neurological insults focus on arresting neurological structural and functional neurological loss. Functional neurological restoration is a challenge. Stem cells offer the potential and promise of being a game changer in neurological functional restoration. This review article follows upon the authors’ previously published work on neural stem cells and brain function.
