Adolescent optimism - Coping well after severe injury: A qualitative study
Among 18 moderate to severely injured adolescents, we found that the majority were coping well. Strong social relationships and involvement in school and social activities was important in all interviews. While several experienced fatigue and challenges in keeping up, the negative impact on daily life was manageable at the time of the interviews.
