The emergence of artificial intelligence, led by ChatGPT, has subversively changed the way of production and use of human knowledge, which has a far-reaching impact on the field of academic writing, especially the main force of academic writing, college teachers. Therefore, this study explores the functions of ChatGpt in the field of academic writing, and analyzes the ways in which ChatGPT can improve the academic writing ability of college English teachers.
