BLDC Motor Driven Single Stage water Pumping System Fed by MG/O based MPPT of SPV Unit

/ater Pumping Systems (/PSs) are mandatory in human life to do various tasks including washing, agriculture, drinking etc. an electric motor with proper electricity supply must be fed to drive the wPS which consumes a lot of Power from electric grid. So, design of a standalone Solar Photovoltaic (SPV) Powered wPS will become a viable solution for many issues. Among many, brushless DC motor (BLDCM) is selected due to its special features. In setup a cost effective model, battery less SPV fed wPS is developed in this paper with a novel control strategy of BLDCM. In addition to this, a sensorless speed controller that utilizes sliding mode control (SMC) is incorporate to manage the speed of the pump. However, an efficient optimization methodology must be required to extract maximum Power from the SPV unit under partial shading conditions (PSCs). Hence, modified grey wolf optimization (MGWO) is implemented on the maximum Power point tracking (MPPT) algorithm. Further, this MGWO is compared with GA, PSO and MIWO methods. Furthermore, the single stage configuration is developed by avoiding an extra MPPT circuit by using proposed control method of the converter. In order to present an effective results, Hardware – in the – Loop (HIL) is setup on OPAL-RT units and valid findings are analyzed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed theory in this paper.
