Model-Based Stator Inter-Turn Short-Circuit Fault Detection and Diagnosis in Interior-Mount Line-Start 3-Φ Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors
This paper presents a new method for identifying and diagnosing stator inter-turn short-circuit failures in interior-mounted line-start permanent magnet synchronous motors (LSPMSMs). The strategy combines the extended Kalman filter's innovation sequence with the Nonlinear Generalised Likelihood Ratio (NGLR) algorithm. One significant advantage of this technology is that it merely uses current sensors, avoiding the requirement for unique motor design specifications. Simulations conducted in MATLAB 2024b on an LSPMSM demonstrate the method's accuracy and effectiveness in fault diagnosis.
