Dynamic THz Measurements in the PreSyse Lab
This paper contributes to the MARIE project’s M01 initiative. For more information on MARIE, visit trrmarie.de. The paper presents the transition of our research focus from static to dynamic THz measurements, leveraging the advanced capabilities of the PreSyse Lab. This state-of-the-art facility is equipped with dual collaborative robots, enabling ground-breaking THz measurement scenarios and 3D imaging in static, mobile, and dynamic environments. Key contributions of this ongoing and planned work include the development of a dynamic THz signal processing model to address channel non-idealities, and the creation of a public AI-driven THz database featuring a large collection of 3D THz images of both homogeneous and inhomogeneous objects. Additionally, the work involves benchmarking compact MARIE-originated THz transceivers for optimization, and building a human THz phantom to mimic human motion for experimental validation. The PreSyse Lab’s capabilities support M01 in achieving MARIE’s overarching goals of real-time localization, imaging, and material mapping in dynamic and complex scenarios.
