Electrically conductive multivariate coordination nanosheets
The chemistry, physics, and materials science of electrically conductive coordination nanosheets (CONASHs) have grown rapidly over the past decade owing to their structural and functional diversity. The discovery of various combinations of metal ions and organic ligands has led to the exploration of multivariate CONASHs by integrating these components in a single CONASH. Multivariate CONASHs exhibit enhanced chemical and physical properties that stem from electronic interactions among the different components. In this review, we summarize and discuss the progress in the synthesis, characterization, and elucidation of functionalities of multivariate CONASHs, including their structural classifications, experimental demonstrations of enhanced properties, and the effect of compositional diversity on their functionalities. This review provides perspectives on multivariate CONASHs to further develop this field of research and translate it into practical applications. • Recent advance in multivariate coordination nanosheets (CONASHs) is discussed. • Applications of multivariate CONASHs are comprehensively discribed. • Outlooks of multivariate coordination nanosheets are summarized.
