Woods–Saxon inflation driven by GB term
In this paper, we examine inflation in the slow-roll regime using the well-known Gauss–Bonnet term for modified gravity. We consider a canonical scalar field theory with a Woods–Saxon potential and an arbitrary nonminimal coupling. Under these circumstances, the single field model’s coupling function [Formula: see text] to the Gauss–Bonnet scalar is [Formula: see text]. Furthermore, by computing the inflationary dynamics, we determine the slow-roll parameters such as the tensor-to-scalar ratio r and the scalar spectral index [Formula: see text]. We then show that our result agrees perfectly with the observational data from the Planck satellite.
