LYMPHANGIOMA CIRCUMSCRIPTUM: A CASE SERIES
Lymphangioma circumscriptum refers to the rare malformations in the lymphatic system. Lymphatic malformation arises from a defect in the embryonic development of the lymphatic drainage system. This is an unusual benign condition that presents at birth or early infancy, either as a localized subcutaneous swelling or as 'frogspawn' (clusters of watery or haemorrhagic vesicles or lymphatic blisters) on the skin. It manifests as either isolated or in association with deep lymphangioma or angiodysplastic syndromes (Cobb, Proteus or Maffucci). It is commonly observed over head and neck (48%), with additional areas including the groin, axilla, arms, legs, and oral mucosa. This article presents six cases with varied manifestations of the same condition.
