Development of An Augmented Reality-Based Innovative Teaching in Education to Enrich the Engineering Student Experience

Engineering Education entails using scientific instruments and apparatus that need adherence to safety protocols and significant financial investment. The current global epidemic has impacted engineering education, specifically the teaching and learning processes. All courses and laboratory sessions must now use online distance learning methods. This study opts for Augmented Reality (AR) to enhance the teaching and learning. AR enhances students’ interest and enthusiasm in studying and helps overcome the limitations of resources and physical space regarding laboratory equipment. This study included constructing an AR system utilizing the Assembler program, following the system development technique. The completed AR system is sent to a group of chosen educators to evaluate their knowledge and the usefulness of the technology. The educators' replies are collected by responding to a survey, and the results are analyzed and reported in this study.
