A Solar PV fed High Gain Quasi-Resonant SEPIC Converter using LQR Controller

The widespread consumption of petroleum products contributes to an upsurge in environmental problems including global warming. In contemporary electrical systems, renewable energy sources for instance PV, wind energy, etc., serve as alternatives to petroleum products. Voltage balancing is necessary because the supply for electrical demand frequently has low dc output voltages from these sources. A ubiquitous boost dc/dc converter is an popular alternative intended for voltage matching, but it has the drawback of having an output voltage that can be augmented up to twice the voltage as much as the input. The SEPIC converter duty cycle is wide-ranging in order to get higher voltage, but it does so at the expense of a large conduction loss and increased dissipation in semiconductor devices. A quasi-resonant SEPIC dc/dc converter with high gain is linked to the PV source in order to get around this problem. An intangible dc voltage is established by the dc/dc converter to employ in charging electric vehicles. The converter is controlled by LQR controller.
