Radiation Pattern Improvement of I Shaped Antenna using Glass-FR4 Substrate Compared to Polystyrene Substrate in X-Band Applications
The primary objective of this study is to conduct a comparative analysis between a new Glass-FR4 substrate and a Polystyrene substrate in X-band applications, with the aim of improving the radiation pattern of a patch microstrip antenna. At a frequency range of 10 GHz, the RF properties of novel Glass-FR4 substrate (r = 4.6) and polystyrene substrate (r = 2.2) are compared. The 15 Using pre-test power, samples were calculated using sample calculation as 80%. The Glass-FR4 substrate antenna achieved a radiation pattern of 10.81 at 10 GHz, whereas the Polystyrene substrate antenna achieved the radiation pattern of 9.47 at 10 GHz. The Microstrip Pathc Antenna (MPA) with novel Glass-FR4 substrate has been noted to have a much better radiation pattern than the antenna with Polystyrene substrate.
