AI in Education: Redefining Language Assessment and Feedback Mechanisms
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a major revolution in various fields and education is one of them. The scope of this research focuses on the transformative capability that AI can possess in reshaping language assessment and feedback process within educational with some exemplar cases. Many of the existing traditional language assessment approaches, depend upon standardization conformity and human evaluators have numerous problems such as majorly fraught with subjectivity issues, time-related constraints, non-scalability factors. A better understanding of language, speech assessment and the benefits from a variety of datasets are key to this revolution in AI - more accurate assessments significantly faster than possible by hand. The paper opens by discussing limitations of traditional language assessment tools that fail to provide an unbiased and efficient evaluation for a deeper insight into the linguistic competence of a candidate. It then presents AI-driven tools and systems that can evaluate various language competencies (e.g., grammar, vocabulary pronunciation comprehension) more precisely and objectively than traditional modalities. AI systems can process vast amounts of data almost in real time, giving the learners immediate and granular feedback - a key component for effective language learning. In addition, paper looks at the usage of AI in feedback mechanism. Traditional feedback is often slow and general, not targeting the individuality of each learner. AI-driven feedback tools, however, provide both immediate and personalized actionable advice suitable to the individual needs of each student.
