Shakespearean Sonnets In The Digital Age: Ai's Role In Analysing And Creating Poetry

In an era where the speed of technological development is quite dictatorial, the intersection between artificial intelligence (AI) and literature is quite fascinating. This research paper will explore the world of Shakespearean sonnets—timeless poetic architecture that has delighted and inspired audiences for centuries—through the modern lens of AI and its place both in the analytics of poetry and its creation within the modern, digital world. Building upon the rich tradition of the Shakespearean sonnet, the paper explicates how the advancement in AI technologies, especially natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning algorithms, has brought in a virtual revolution in the discipline of literary studies. Making it more interesting, scholars are now starting to use AI-driven tools to delve into the subtleties of poetic language, trying to find some hidden patterns, themes, and stylistic elements that may not necessarily evade human perception—but perhaps only take centuries to notice. So great is the flair of AI systems in generating poetry that, with these advancements in deep learning and new architectures of neural networks, the capability vies with even human-authored works. Exciting though all of this is regarding the possibilities of analysing and even generating poetry, however, come certain ethical and philosophical questions. This paper will discuss critically the implications AI's role in literary ventures brings, which are in question on issues related to authorship and authenticity and hence delve into questions about the essence of creativity. But can AI reproduce the formal aspects of the poetic art and, within that, imbibe the essence of human emotion and experienceƒ What holds the future for literary expression if the machines become an active part of the creative processƒ
