Algorithm for calculating borehole water intake using submersible pumps

The article describes a method for calculating downhole water intake using submersible centrifugal pumps as water lifting devices. Boreholes are used to draw groundwater from pressurized and unpressurized aquifers. Lifting of water from boreholes can be carried out by surface or submersible pumps. To extract water from a great depth, it is more appropriate to choose a submersible pump. The main operational parameters of a water intake borehole are its flow rate, as well as static and dynamic water levels. Flow rate is the volume of water coming from the borehole per unit of time. The static water level is set in the borehole when the pump is not working, the dynamic level is set when the pump is running. The greater the difference between static and dynamic levels, the higher the borehole flow rate. An appropriate algorithm has been developed based on the presented methodology. In the process of calculating the borehole water intake, the following parameters are determined: the depth of boreholes and their number, the specific flow rate of bore-holes, taking into account their mutual influence, the difference between static and dynamic water levels, the pump capacity and pressure, the diameters of the filter and casing pipes.
