Enhancement of Performance Using POD, PSS and UPFC in Large Power Network
This research investigates the enhancement of large power system performance through the deployment of a Unified Power Flow Controller integrated with Power System Stabilizer and Power Oscillation Damper, utilizing the Power System Analysis Toolbox (PSAT). The study focuses on incorporating the UPFC into the power system model, employing its PI controller to address voltage variations and transient stability issues. Simulation results reveal the UPFC's effectiveness in improving damping of the first peak, reducing oscillations, and enhancing overall system reliability and stability under varying operating conditions. This research underscores the valuable role of UPFC, PSS, and POD in optimizing power system performance through PSAT.
