Enhancing Damping Oscillation Using Interline Power Flow Controller (IPFC)

In modern power systems, maintaining stability and minimizing oscillations are paramount to ensuring consistent and reliable electricity supply. One promising technology that aids in this objective is the Interline Power Flow Controller (IPFC). This paper deals with the PI based controller design for two static synchronous series compensator (SSSC) with common and simultaneous firing strategy in multiple lines to achieve first peak stability, reduce the settling time and damping of oscillations in large and complex network. The control strategy of voltage source converters based SSSC has been design its firing circuit to improve the transient performance of the power system under various operating conditions. The performance of PI Based IPFC is verified in MATLAB environment.
