A Novel Approach to Smart Distribution Voltage Regulation Using Adaptive Fuzzy Gain Scheduling Method for Micro Grids

This research proposes a low-voltage bipolar-type DC microgrid designed to incorporate at least two energy storage units, ensuring system redundancy and reliability. The study focuses on the configuration, operation, and control of the microgrid, presenting a novel control strategy that combines adaptive fuzzy gain scheduling for efficient power sharing and energy management. Through simulations, the proposed method dynamically adjusts control parameters based on real-time system conditions, preventing imbalances in energy storage and enhancing overall voltage regulation. The adaptive fuzzy gain scheduling approach integrates fuzzy logic with gain scheduling techniques, allowing the system to continually respond to variations in load and generation for improved energy efficiency and stability. Simulation results demonstrate that the DC distribution voltages remain within 340 V ± 5%, and the energy storage ratios are balanced. This implies that both DC voltage regulation and energy balancing can be effectively achieved using the proposed adaptive fuzzy gain scheduling method. The findings, analyzed in MATLAB, highlight the method's potential for improving power quality and stability in DC microgrids.
