Analysis of Distribution System Operating Scenarios with Optimal Photovoltaic DG and Electric Vehicle Integration
Distributed generation (DG) systems offer a more sustainable option compared to traditional centralized power generation. By incorporating renewable energy sources like wind, solar and biomass, DG can reduce the reliance on fossil fuels, drop transmission losses, and enhance energy efficiency. This paper aims to model a radial distribution system (RDS) using MATLAB and test various scenarios with photovoltaic (PV) DG placements and EVs allocations. A 15-bus RDS is modelled and tested, with the objective of mitigating the impact of EVs on the system. The Enhanced Golden Jackal Optimization (EGJO) algorithm is employed to identify the optimal sites and ratings of PV DG installations. A comparative analysis of different allocation strategies and their effects on network performance offers valuable insights. By emphasizing optimal allocation, this research could provide solutions that are readily applicable to real-world scenarios.
